Geez Design Studio made a diving mask you can wear with the MY YARD FORMART vacuum forming machine.
Vacuum forming is a great way to make creative masks for cosplay, Carnival, Halloween or any other occasion. Depending on which material you use, your mask can be (partially) see-through or be painted to create a truly unique look.
In the video below, you can see how Geez Design Studio made a diving helmet mask using a 3D printer, MY YARD vacuum former, and a cutting machine. They designed the diving helmet in 3D modelling software and then printed the mould on a 3D printer. In this example, they used a transparent PET sheet to form the mask, so the visor of the helmet would look like the glass used in real diving helmets. After vacuum forming the transparent mask, they covered the visor and spray painted the rest of the mask. Once the paint was dry and the covers were removed, the diving helmet mask was ready!
You can also make masks from other materials, like our white HIPS sheets. These sheets are not transparent, but they can be painted easily in any colour or motif.
